Wood working membership site idea
Here’s another example of how you could combine video to make a membership site. This example is in the woodworking niche and is actually something I’ve been thinking about for a while now.
Although I don’t have any woodworking skills I do have a couple of high quality woodworking friends who can make just about anything and it’s their exploits that I’ve been pondering over whether or not I could make a website that shows how to make and repair various things from wood.
If I were to go ahead and create a membership site I’d base it around a step by step how to make certain things, or techniques to repair certain things. For example a shed or chicken coop or pieces of furniture.
So far, all I’ve done is taken various clips just for personal viewing and to see how video looks especially under lights. And so far I’ve been pretty happy. Although this example is working with wood it could be sheet metal or anything where there is a perceived demand on how to make or do things.
Making a shed is a pretty big project and would require a lot of filming. Making or repairing pieces of furniture on the other hand would take a lot less time. Either way it would be a matter of filming a project from start to finish explaining all the tools and techniques to arrive at the finished product.
If I had say at least twenty items filmed from start to finish with accompanying instructional audio then maybe I might have a website that I could monetize.
Now although there are no guarantees that I’d make one red cent, a quick look in Google’s keyword tool does show a lot of interest in woodworking and related terms.
Hey it’s just an idea!! |
